Crane has acquired a 35-acre parcel in Forest Grove, Oregon, to develop a cutting-edge data center campus to cater to customers requiring 2 MW or more capacity. Leading the charge on this initiative, Page is spearheading the Master Plan and Design of two new buildings and a substation on this campus.
The initiative, organized into multiple phases, begins with Phase 1, which encompasses the construction of Building 1, Site Development, and obtaining a Wetlands Fill Permit. Building 1 features a single-story design and will offer 24MW IT capacity when complete. Phase 2 focuses on the development of a substation alongside the construction of Building 2, featuring up to 72 MW of IT load capacity distributed across a two-story production white space and a four-story administrative area. Phase 1 Package 1 includes core and shell construction, administration/operations areas setup, installation of underground utilities, exterior equipment arrangement, and comprehensive site work to accommodate one 18,000 SF 12MW data hall in Building 1. Each 12MW data hall ensures flexibility by offering leasing increments of 4MW. In terms of electrical typology, all data halls will feature a redundant system comprising UPS “blocks.” Each 12 MW, 18,000 SF data hall will be equipped with dedicated generators, UPS electrical power modules, and advanced cooling systems for air and liquid cooled server loads. Our goal for this project is to achieve a target PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of an annual average of 1.2 or better while operating at a 12 MW IT load or higher. Sustainability is a core part of Crane’s brand, and each building is targeting LEED Silver certification.
