Headquartered in Dallas, Solomon Associates is global consulting firm servicing the energy industry. A sophisticated group, Solomon executives were keenly aware that their workplace needed to be more open and collaborative. Because confidentially is paramount to Solomon’s business, the design team's biggest design challenge was striking a balance between this new direction in the firm's workplace and a traditionally closed office environment that Solomon is required to maintain.
Intentionally breaking the existing plan at key “collision” points in the space, Page planned open areas to foster natural, intuitive collaboration. At the largest intersection point in the plan, a multi-purpose room with kitchen and library components provides a space in which all employees can relax and socialize. As each of Solomon’s offices has an aesthetic tie to its location, emphasizing the Dallas locale was another design goal for the space. To accomplish this Page designed a prominent glass-enclosed entry element, offering employees and visitors views through Solomon’s lobby and board room to the dramatic Dallas skyline.
